ASHES

Driven by a passion for history and the weight of an absence, a professor, and the relative of a deportee who disappeared during World War II begin an investigation across Europe to uncover his fate. From the Basque Country to Prague, what begins as a personal quest soon leads to an extraordinary discovery: the story of František Suchý and his son, who, defying the Nazi regime and risking their own lives, managed to preserve the names and ashes of more than 2,200 victims. Among them, the long-lost remains of that deportee, whose trace was erased eighty years ago.
